Salt Lake City National Cluster Meeting

This year some of our members were able to attend the National Cluster Meeting. Clusters is a gathering of FCCLA chapters from across the western states. There were members from over 20 states in attendance.
The purpose of these meetings are to bring members together to compete in a variety of events and attend workshops to help strengthen leadership skills. We had three members compete and took first and second in the Culinary Math section.
Arriving Friday afternoon we checked in to the hotel and attended the opening session where several national officers kicked of the event with an introduction to Clusters and to themselves. After the opening session Nichole Bishop and Abby Raff competed in the Culinary Math event which consisted of taking a test about FCCLA facts and culinary math. We then met up with one of our Administrators Stacey Salmons and his wife and went to dinner at the Red Iguana, an authentic Mexican restaurant.
Saturday Katrina De Karver participated in the Culinary Knife Skills event. We had the opportunity to be ushers for some of the workshops. Throughout the rest of the day we attended workshops and even squeezed in some shopping at City Creek. That night we partayed. With karaoke and other fun games.

Thanks to the National FCCLA team for making Clusters something great to remember!
